STORY – MADE IN THE U.K.

Arktis have been supplying hardy, durable gear to some of the toughest military and Special Forces units around the world for some thirty years. Some such cases have been the delivery of smocks to airstrips, onto the backs of soldiers whilst a transport aircraft has waited for them to board. The broad mix of customers that we supply is both prestigious & an honour for us to serve.

Since it inception we have prided ourselves in making our goods in the U.K. Despite most competitors turning to overseas production we have retained our manufacturing facility in Britain, which has allowed us to remain versatile and responsive. As testament to this it is not uncommon for garments over 20 years old to come back to our factory for reproofing & repairs.

Back in the 80’s we pioneered the original Waterproof Smocks made with our own design of Ripstop fabric. The fabric now battle proven is still used by many specialists globally today. The cloth with its mixture of durability and breathability, combined with an innovative waterproof finish, still can’t be beat. All our garments lined in waterproof, tape seamed ‘Drop Liner’, provide another layer of protection, meaning even if the outer Ripstop is damaged the wearer is still dry. The Arktis concept of outer Ripstop and internal Drop Liner is still unique in the market.

An ethic coined as “Quality of Endurance” has provided Arktis with its guiding principle of simple, rugged, quality driven products. This bi-line remains at the core of every Arktis product to this day.
